One Less Death Trap...

Left bedroom...
Right bedroom!
Actually, make that three less death traps.  The weird windows from the upstairs bedrooms that overlooked the living room have been filled in!  Unfortunately, it takes away a lot of natural light from the bedrooms.  We are planning on adding fans with light kits to each bedroom.  I think that adding the light kits and additional lighting to the bedrooms will make sure that they don't appear too dark.

Sky high!
Here is the view of the patched up opening from the living room.  And yes that scaffolding is sky high!  They'll use it to put a fresh coat of white paint on the ceiling.  Once the hardwoods are in we plan on staining the wood beams a similar color.

Yay! All closed up!

The painters are still in the house.  It's taking longer than expected to remove all the wallpaper.  One of the previous owners did not properly prime the walls before applying the wallpaper.  So now, when you try to remove it, it's easy to remove bits of the drywall.  Not a great scenario.  The easiest way to remedy this mistake is to just go ahead and use a primer like Kilz over the wallpaper (two coats!) and then sand from there.  We are planning on putting new wallpaper in some of the rooms so fortunately the walls don't have to be "paint perfect."  Check out the picture of the "library."  You guys cracked me up how much you loved this wallpaper.  Yes, it's amazing and from the 80s but sadly, it has to go.  Trust me, we have something WAY better in mind!
Can you see your beloved Library through the primer?
